We may have faced many challenges during 2020 and 2021, but we have also had an exciting development.

GRUEN ECO DESIGN IS GOING REGIONAL!

At Gruen Eco Design we have made working remotely, virtual meetings and design reviews a vital tool to design beautiful, energy efficient homes all across Australia. This process seamlessly transitioned into working from home during snap lock-downs.

Some of our team members took this opportunity to relocate to regional Victoria. They are now based there and can help service our clients with site visits and face to face meetings outside of Metropolitan Melbourne.

We are very excited to announce that Gruen Eco Design now also has bases in

BEECHWORTH & BALLARAT

Kathleen (Kitty) is set up in BEECHWORTH

Shaily is available for meetings in BALLARAT

And while we have already designed many projects in regional Victoria over the last few years, we are very excited to be even more hands on in those regions.

If you are located in or around Victoria’s North East, Murray Valley or Central Highlands regions and are thinking about renovating, making your existing home more energy efficient or building a new home or Passive House. Please get in touch.

Shaily

Certified Passive House Designer
Graduate of Architecture
Master of Architecture

From a young age, Shaily took a keen interest in spaces designed in harmony with nature so it was a natural progression for her to go on to study a Masters in Architecture and then successfully complete the Certified Passive House Designer course.

Along with her passion for sustainable home design, she also loves the aesthetics of the more traditional village dwellings found in her birth home, India. These homes are built by its residents using the locally available and produced materials, e.g. For flooring a combination of mud and cow dung is used (have great antiseptic properties), local wood in the structure, clay, earth, giving earthen feeling and unique identity to the spaces, unique character to the dwellings and conveying a story of that space.

In the coming years Shaily hopes to continue her learning in Passive House principles and implement them in her work hoping to be part of a movement that creates a net zero future benefitting both the users and the earth.

Kathleen
Graduate of Architecture and Interior Design

After finishing her Bachelor in Environments at Melbourne Uni, Kathleen went on to complete her Masters in Architecture. While studying, she went to every travelling studio available, the most memorable; studying architecture in the Galapagos Islands. Post Masters she has worked for several Architectural firms on residential, multi residential and commercial projects.

Not only is Kathleen a project lead, but her artistic background combined with Architectural studies, has formed her into a highly creative interior design lead. Kathleen’s style is natural, minimalist with an inspiring and bold use of colour. When working with interior design clients she intuitively interprets their individual style and gently helps them push the boundaries for unique spaces.
