Meet Marian
Building Designer
After leaving her career as a nurse, Marian went on to study the Advanced Diploma of Building Design (Architectural) and 6 years ago joined the Gruen Eco Design Team.
Utilising those organisational skills from her nursing days, Marian has found a real knack for project management.
A lover of most architectural genres with a penchant for simplicity, clean lines and the use of natural materials.
Marians future ambitions are to continue working in the same area and expanding her knowledge and skills in Passive House design.
When not at work, Marian loves gardening , reading and studying Italian. She is also lucky enough to live on a beautiful property with a vineyard on the Mornington Peninsula.
“The built environment is a vast consumer of resources and I believe as designers we can have a positive impact on the environment by determining how much and the type of resources are used in this endeavour. Our challenge is to design homes that meet our clients needs using products and materials that don’t negatively impact the environment. Equally important is that the end result has longevity and that the performance of the home limits the drain on the earth’s resources to maintain a thermally comfortable environment.” – Marian
