new sips home baxter
This 8.6 star home uses SIP’s (structural insulated panels) for the roofs and the external walls. An insulated burnished concrete floor adds some lovely thermal mass. And an HRV (heat recovery ventilation system) provides the house with constant fresh and healthy air. All of course with high performing double glazed windows.
This new double storey SIPs home is in fact an extension to an existing single storey weatherboard home.
There is a small connection between the old and the new. Hoewever, the family of 6 all live in this very compact and high performing double storey extension.
The house compromises a generous kitchen/ living / dining area with a walk in pantry. And a bathroom & a study on the lower level. The upper level as 3 bedrooms, one main bathroom and a separte toilet.
Yes, the 3 kids share one bedroom, the mother in law has one bedroom and the parents occupy the third bedroom. Multi-generational living at its best.
The clients have managed the entire build as owner builders. What an amazing effort!!!
Doesn’t it look amazing?
