Speakers Simone Schenkel
Simone Schenkel is a certified Passive House designer whose mission is to make energy-efficient homes a staple in the Australian landscape. She has used the passion, experience and knowledge she gained from her upbringing and architectural studies in Germany to create Gruen Eco Design, a business where she works with her clients to create not only beautifully designed homes but also homes that are healthy, thermally comfortable, energy efficient and resilient for future generations – and that won’t cost the earth.
Dick Clarke
Dick Clarke is proprietor of Envirotecture, a sustainable building design firm in Sydney. He is a building designer with over 30 years of experience.
Sarah Lebner
In 2020, Sarah was awarded the Australian Institute of Architects’ National Emerging Architect Prize. The prize recognises an individual emerging architect’s contribution to “architectural practice, education, design excellence and community involvement, which advances the profession’s role within the public arena.” Until 2022, Sarah worked in Canberra as the Principal Architect at an interdisciplinary firm, Light House Architecture and Science. Here she worked under nationally recognised building scientist, Jenny Edwards, and they focused on achieving high levels of energy efficiency while studying affordability and buildability.
Sarah has returned to her family farm in Tooma, NSW, to focus on providing leading sustainable design services to regional people and communities.”
